Thank you for your interest in Manzano Day School. Manzano Day School, founded in 1938, is an independent, nonsectarian, non-profit elementary school providing innovative child centered education in a setting that celebrates Joy in Learning®.
Admission to Manzano Day School is a committee decision. The elements used as a basis for making that decision are the application, parent questionnaire, academic record, teacher recommendation, observation/visitation day and test scores. All parts of the application file are weighed equally.
Manzano Day School is a member school of NAIS (National Association of Independent Schools) and accredited by ISAS (Independent Schools Association of the Southwest) and the Department of Education of the state of New Mexico.
Manzano Day School faculty, staff, students and their parents make up our family tree. More than 40 talented and dedicated teachers lead our classes. Many faculty members have master’s degrees and a number have doctorates. All believe in teaching the whole child – nurturing a student’s interest in everything from core subjects to our co-curricular subjects of Spanish, art, music, library skills, physical education and technology classes, while building character and self-esteem.
Our diverse student body of pre-kindergarten through fifth grade students come from a variety of cultural, socio-economic, and ethnic backgrounds. Parents often volunteer their time and talents on campus and are the driving force behind the school.
