This award provides a unique opportunity for professional and personal development for the faculty of Manzano Day School in a way that will also benefit the students. Interested faculty members prepare and submit an application and then present the idea to the Teacher Fellowship Committee. Each member of the committee provides a score for each application. The results are then tallied and the highest scoring application overall is awarded up to a $5,000 grant. Thank you to this year's committee: Chairperson Marron Lee Nelson. Nurse's Notes The USDA considers all fluid milk products and many foods made from milk part of the Dairy Group. Foods made from milk that retain their calcium content are part of the group. Some commonly eaten food choices in the Dairy Group are milk, cheese, yogurt, calcium-fortified soymilk, an milk-based desserts such as ice cream and pudding. Foods made from milk that have little to no calcium, such as cream cheese, cream, and butter, are not considered part of the Dairy Group.
