We are delighted you found us!

Welcome to Manzano Day School, where thoughtful teaching and a vibrant community come together to inspire lifelong learners. We encourage you to explore how our approach empowers students to succeed in school and beyond.

Welcome to Manzano Day School!

Founded in 1938, we are the oldest and only preK-5th grade nationally accredited independent school in Albuquerque. For generations, Manzano Day School has been dedicated to delivering excellence in early childhood and elementary education. We believe that the early years of school are the most critical period in a student’s development. It is here that a lifelong love of learning begins, and where children first discover who they are as thinkers, creators, and collaborators in the context of a caring community.

By centering the needs of young learners, our engaging academic program empowers students to learn and think deeply, wonder about the world, and develop skills that will lead them into a bright future. And our talented faculty and staff commit each day to helping children in our care become great students and even better people. Our core values—Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, and Striving for Excellence—are at the heart of all we do.

At Manzano Day School, we don’t just teach subjects; we inspire students to be the best they can be.

We often say that when you enroll your child at Manzano Day School, your whole family joins our community. We invite you to explore our website, but more importantly, we invite you to visit our beautiful historic campus in the heart of Albuquerque to see how we bring our vision of Joy in Learning to life for our students and families.

I look forward to meeting you and sharing everything that makes Manzano Day School such a special school and community.

Warmly,

Jij (pronounced “jay”) de Jesus

Head of School
