Manzano Day School

Joy in Learning® Since 1938

Welcome from the Head of School

Welcome to Manzano Day School where instilling Joy in Learning® has been our tradition since 1938. Year after year, we continue to provide the opportunity for children to receive an exceptional educational foundation, and prepare them for a future of lifelong learning and endless possibilities.

The first time I stepped onto campus in 2001, I immediately felt the warmth of the people and the charm of the historic adobe buildings. Today, our campus incorporates modern architecture and facilities as well, in much the same way that our curriculum balances traditional education and innovative learning. And that feeling of warmth remains.

The Manzano Day School Difference is our people and program. Our team of dedicated faculty is at the heart of our community and they understand the importance of setting high expectations within a nurturing and safe environment. Our curriculum is designed to educate the “whole child” and addresses individual needs and learning styles. In addition to our strong core curriculum, six co-curricular classes (art, library, music, physical education, Spanish and technology) are part of every student’s schedule from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. The customary skills are still essential, and our commitment to develop and implement 21st century curriculum gives our students the tools they need to meet the challenges of the future.

Manzano Day School’s core values of respect, responsibility, integrity and striving for excellence are central to everything we do. The outdoor environmental education program at Fenton Ranch gives every child the opportunity to explore the natural world, while developing self-reliance and independence. Our grade level service learning projects teach students to give back.

I am very proud of our school and the partnerships we have forged with our families. We are a diverse and strong community, united in our shared vision of education. Joy in Learning® is the key to our success and an integral part of our school culture. Walk around the campus and you will see the joy in teaching, playing, listening, and sharing that occurs every single day. I invite you to visit us and experience Manzano Day School for yourself.
