Financial Aid Overview

Manzano Day School's Financial Aid program is designed to make a Manzano Day School education possible for all families based on demonstrated financial need and the availability of funds. Manzano Day School is proud to use the Clarity Application to determine a family’s level of financial need based on the information that families share in the application which includes assets, income, expenses, and debts.

To get started, please go to the Clarity Application and create an account. The application typically takes less than 30 minutes to complete. The Clarity Application is also mobile-friendly so you can complete it from anywhere. You are also able to save your progress and return at any time. At the end of the application, there is a $60 fee to submit, and you can share your application with additional schools that accept the Clarity Application for no additional charge. Simply use the dropdown menu in the application to select those schools.

Please remember to return to your dashboard after you complete and submit your Clarity Application, as Manzano Day School requires you to upload additional tax documentation including 2023 1040 and W2(s).

The deadline for completing the financial aid application including relevant supplemental documents is December 1, 2024.

If you need support during the process of completing your application, there is in-app support available through the “Help” button in the bottom left of the screen, as well as email and phone support at support@clarityapp.com or 206-210-3752, in both English and Spanish. The application itself is also fully translated into Spanish.

Financial aid applications for returning students are due by December 1, 2024 for the 2025-2026 academic year. For new students applying applying for admission to Manzano Day School, the financial aid application deadline is also December 1, 2024. Subsequent applications will be considered on a rolling basis as families apply for admission.

FAQs about Clarity

The following policy applies to divorced/separated/non-custodial/unmarried parents

Manzano Day School believes that parents have an obligation to pay for the educational expenses of their children to the extent that they are able. The Financial Aid Committee will consider the assets of all parents including never married, separated, divorced, non-custodial, and step-parents before making any award. The Committee cannot be bound by the assertion that one parent has disclaimed legally or otherwise any responsibility for education expenses.

If either parent has remarried, the Committee will also consider the income and assets of the step- parent, always bearing in mind the obligation of that step-parent to his or her own children.

Requests for waiving this policy must be submitted in writing to the Financial Aid Committee.

Awards

The maximum financial aid award is 50% of total tuition based on demonstrated need and available funds. If a family, applying for financial aid, is not awarded the maximum award based on demonstrated need and the child cannot attend Manzano Day School, the $500.00 registration enrollment deposit will be refunded to the family. However, if the maximum award is offered to the family, based on demonstrated need, and the child does not attend, the $500.00 registration enrollment deposit will not be refunded.

Please contact the Admission and Financial Aid Office at 505-243-6659 x401 for guidance in handling unusual circumstances.
