Student Success

Six of our Chess Club members participated in a small regional tournament and earned first place. Way to go Knights!

Now in its eighteenth year, "Voces Poéticas"continues to prove a meaningful and important experience for student participants. "Voces" provides both native and non-native Spanish speaking students and their teachers the opportunity to enhance their knowledge of and appreciation for Spanish language poetry. Tasked with learning, memorizing, and dramatizing Spanish poetry, the student participants complete the event with a deepened appreciation for Spanish language and culture. This year eighty-five students at Manzano Day School participated in this event. One student per grade level is selected to represent our school at the poetry recital contest, sponsored by the Spanish Center of Resources in partnership with the Division of History and Literary Arts at the Hispanic Cultural Center. Please give a cheer for the following students: Athena, Julia, Ethan, Phillip and Nahili. These students will be the 2018 Manzano Day School representatives. We would also like to congratulate everyone who participated, all presentations were fantastic. We are very proud of all of you all of you.
