Sensations Workshops

Block III: January 14th - March 7th

The Sensations Workshops Program is available to all Manzano Day School students who would like to participate in some exciting and fun activities before or after school. This program offers innovative, informative, and creative workshops that develop new interests, skills, and/or strengths. All Sensations Workshops take place in the safe environment of the Manzano Day School campus. Sensations Workshops offered in the past include Spirit Runners Run/Walk Team, The Wonders of Fused Glass, Origami, Lacrosse, Cooking Around the World, Picture Me Yoga, Art Attack, African Dance, Hot Off The Press, Self-Defense, Soccer, Chess for Beginners, Kids Martial Arts, Music Lessons, Basketball, etc., and are conducted at various times either before school between 7:00 and 8:00a.m., or after school between 3:45 and 6:00p.m. The workshops range from 45 minutes to 2 hours per session and generally run for a total of six hours over a four to six week period. All Sensations Workshops are taught by Manzano Day School faculty members or select community members who are experts in their field.

Each workshop carries a flat fee, which is not prorated if workshops are missed or if the student registers late; the fee is non-refundable once the workshop begins. Students who participate in The Extended Day Childcare Program at the monthly rate can take advantage of a 15% discount on Sensations Workshops.

Extended Day Childcare is available to all Sensations Workshops students free of charge each day before their workshop begins; however, after the activity has ended, children not picked up by a parent or guardian will be sent to the Extended Day Childcare Program and families will incur the half-hour and/or the hourly fee for the service.

KIDS LUV YOGA

12 Spots Available!

We believe in teaching children to value themselves!

Our philosophy of teaching yoga to children, provides kids with a variety of tools that they can take away from yoga class and use throughout their lives. We use a thoughtful and age appropriate approach in communicating with children and in structuring our classes. Through the relationships we build with our students, we use:

-yoga poses,

-mindfulness games,

-nutrition education,

-music and stories to help them develop a stronger connection between their body and their mind;

The Kids Luv Yoga program also promotes inner-strength, confidence and self-esteem; a feeling of well-being and respect for others; and love for one's self, inside and out.
