Due to COVID-19, Manzano Day School is keeping the health and safety of our community as our top priority and following CDC and State of NM guidelines. As a result, we have made the following adjustments to our Summer Discovery program. Students can enroll in one or both of the sessions.
Session 1 (June 1 - June 12) ONLINE classes
Pre-k and kindergarten students will meet online through a one-hour Zoom session integrating music, art, physical movement, games, and community building. This session will meet daily from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Monday - Friday for two weeks. The cost of Session 1 (pre-k/K) is $60.00.
First through fifth grade students will meet online through a two-hour Zoom session integrating reading, math, music, art, physical movement, games, math, reading, and community building. This session will meet daily from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. Monday - Friday for two weeks. The cost of Session 1 (1st - 5th grade) is $120.00.
Session 2 (June 15 - July 10) ON CAMPUS classes
Provided that on campus instruction is allowed by the State of NM, Session 2 will meet daily from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 pm. Monday - Friday for four weeks. This program will involve music art, cultural studies, yoga and mindfulness, reading, math, maker's space, science, and movement, games, and social opportunities at a distance. The 3-day/week Apple Seeds program cost is $500.00 and all 5-day/week program costs are $657.00.
In an effort to ensure the health and safety of all staff and students, we have made several modifications to on campus classes. Class size will be limited to nine students with restricted movement around campus and social distancing required. Co-curricular teachers will visit individual classrooms to teach, and recesses will be staggered among classes. Students will stay with their smaller group and not intermingle with other classes. Student and staff temperatures will taken daily prior to entering the campus. Masks will be worn as required by state guidelines.
